Nick Plumb

About Nick

As you probably gathered from the ‘home’ page, Nick simply does not do technology. He’s a people person – not a techno geek. He hates downloads, devices, apps, text messages, and most forms of unecessary technology and automation, and prefers to deal with real people – not machines or call centres.
Nick prides himself on being a down to earth and approachable financial adviser, who has over 18 years experience of working within the Financial and Legal Services sectors.
Amongst his qualifications Nick holds the Chartered Insurance Institute Financial Planning Certificate, the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate in Taxation and Trusts, and he has already attained QCF level 4 or ‘Diploma’ status, which is the new Financial Services Industry qualification ‘standard’ that will apply from 2013. Nick has just commenced studying for his Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma, and he is also working towards Chartered status as a Financial Adviser. Nick is also a full member of The Institute of Professional Willwriters.
Plumb Financial Services has clients all over the UK, including Scotland and Northern Ireland and Nick regularly travels to these areas to meet with clients. He is particularly experienced in offshore investments, working with clients who work and/or reside overseas, and with advising ex-pats and non-UK domiciled clients.
Nick is a frequently published and respected contributor to the financial trade press and his technical articles have appeared in publications such as Money Marketing, International Investment, Investment Week, Money Management, and Financial Adviser. He is also a regular on the UK financial services lecture circuit where he speaks on the subjects of tax planning and trusts to other financial advisers.
He is a regular media commentator on the subjects of Investments and Inheritance Tax planning, and he provides Budget Day commentary and analysis for BBC Radio Suffolk in Ipswich. Nick also writes personal finance columns in several regional newspapers and magazines. In East Anglia he writes a monthly column in the Bury Free Press newspaper and for the ‘In Touch’ magazine group.
When he gets a bit of free time, Nick is a keen wildlife photographer and a season ticket holder at Manchester City Football Club.

About Graham

Having spent 29 years as a front line banker, culminating in 10 years as a Small Business Manager, Graham was eager to continue his career working on a face to face basis helping people with their financial affairs.
Graham has now been an Independent Financial Adviser for 12 years and has completed all the qualifications required to continue advising Clients in the future. Like Nick, Graham is QCF Level 4 (Diploma) qualified.
Graham has joined Plumb Financial Services as our Mortgage Specialist. In addition to providing advice on all types of residential and commercial mortgages, and Equity Release mortgages, Graham can also provide a complete overview and review service covering all aspects of advice on general financial planning issues, including life and ill health insurances, savings, investments and pensions.
Outside work Graham has been a member of Round Table, is a volunteer with The Prince’s Trust, enjoys Choral Singing, and is actively involved in his local church as Treasurer.
Graham is currently trying to teach Nick how to receive and send e-mails using his mobile phone. This may prove to be Graham’s most difficult task to-date.
